FEATURES:

Tempered glass is a kind of prestressed glass. Through physical or chemical methods, uniform compressive stress is formed on the surface of the glass, and tensile stress is formed inside. It is the presence of such steel stress that can effectively organize the microcrack propagation on the glass surface, so that the tempered glass has high mechanical strength, good thermal stability and safety performance.

（1） Bending Strength

Tempered glass cut to size has excellent bending strength, which is 4-5 times that of ordinary float glass. The bending strength of tempered glass with thickness of 5mm can reach up to 152MPa.

The deflection of tempered glass is also 3-4 times larger than that of ordinary glass. A tempered glass of 1200*350*6mm can have a maximum curvature of 100mm. Tempered glass also has good water pressure resistance.

（2）Thermal Stability

The thermal stability of tempered glass refers to the properties of the glass subjected to severe temperature changes without being destroyed. Toughened glass can withstand temperature changes up to 260-330 ° C, while ordinary glass is only 75-110 ° C.

For example, tempered glass (510*310*6mm) is placed in a 0°C environment, and then molten lead water (327.5°C) is poured. The sample still does not break.

（3）Safety Performance

Tempered glass also has good safety performance, because when the tempered glass is broken, the whole glass has a honeycomb-shaped obtuse angle small particle (also known as "glass rain"). The particles have no sharp corners and have very good safety. The reason is that there is tensile stress in the inner layer of the tempering.
